Each year TransPennine Express invites applications from community groups and charities to its Transform Grants fund, which provides £50k per annum to support projects which tackle youth unemployment, promote social inclusion and improve the environment.
This year, TransPennine Express received 114 applications for Transform Grants funding, with the total value of bids received in in excess of £450k. In a first for this grant scheme, we are inviting our customers, stakeholders, communities and colleagues to vote for their favoured schemes.
The 114 entries have been judged extensively, resulting in a shortlist of 24 from the top six schemes from the four areas of our network across the North and into Scotland. Locations with shortlisted schemes include: Bolton, Carlisle, Doncaster, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Grimsby, Hull, Manchester, Malton, Mirfield, Motherwell, Preston, Sheffield and Stockport.
We are now asking customers, stakeholders, communities and our colleagues to vote for their favourite projects, with funding being given to the top three schemes based on number of votes cast from each area.
