The ORR have released the annual station usage statistics:

https://dataportal.orr.gov.uk/statistics/usage/estimates-of-station-usage

Note that these include the start of the COVID disruption, so some slight decreases will be explainable by COVID. Barton Line figures are shown below:

Barrow Haven 2310 (up 20.6%)

Barton 36646 (down 5.5%)

Goxhill 12432 (down 9.4%)

Great Coates 8950 (down 18.9%)

Grimsby Docks 4820 (down 0.2%)

Grimsby Town 432356 (down 5.3%) plus 10317 interchanges (down 10.1%)

Cleethorpes 274032 (down 7.4%)

Habrough 40942 (up 4.5%) plus 152 interchanges (down 13.1%)

Healing 9024 (up 6.3%)

New Clee 1578 (down 8.3%)

New Holland 13066 (down 9.8%)

Stallingborough 10180 (up 7.6%)

Thornton Abbey 708 (down 36.4%) - ORR note: Absolute change in passengers is small

Ulceby 7190 (down 1.8%)

Very concerning to see the general decrease in usage. By no means all of this will be down to COVID.

The ORR have also published data for the 12 months to the end of February 2020, thus taking the sharp decline in passengers due to COVID in March 2020 out of the equation. Comparisons are with the 12 months to end March 2019.

Barrow Haven 2452 (up 28.0%)
Barton 37774 (down 2.6%)

Cleethorpes 284866 (down 3.8%)
Goxhill 12908 (down 5.9%)
Great Coates 9316 (down 15.6%)
Grimsby Docks 4942 (up 2.3%)
Grimsby Town 449468 (down 1.6%)
Habrough 42414 (up 8.3%) - likely partly due to hourly TPE calls from Dec 2020
Healing 9322 (up 9.8%)
New Clee 1540 (down 8.3%)
New Holland 13408 (down 7.5%)
Stallingborough 10438 (up 10.3%)
Thornton Abbey 730 (down 34.5%)
Ulceby 7354 (up 0.4%)

Whilst these aren't as bad as the figures up to the end of March 2020, they still in general show a small decline in usage which really does need to be reversed. Of course, next years figures are likely be a whole lot worse, but I urge all members, as soon as you are able to please, get out and support your local line.
