Apologies for lack of updates recently. This is largely down to ill health on my part.

The Barton Line train service will be replaced by buses until Saturday 2nd January 2021. For the replacement bus timetable, please see:

Please note that the replacement bus services are not serving New Clee, Grimsby Docks or Thornton Abbey and that at Barrow Haven the bus will call at the Haven Inn rather than the railway station.

From Monday 4th January 2021, a train service will resume. However, please note that the 06:58 from Cleethorpes and 07:56 from Barton will not operate and that on Mondays - Thursdays, the 21:04 from Cleethorpes and 22:02 from Barton will be a replacement bus service.

First Transpennine Express service services from Cleethorpes are currently reduced to two hourly, running to Manchester Piccadilly, due to staff shortages at Cleethorpes. In addition, a replacement bus service is operating from Cleethorpes - Scunthorpe at 05:05.

Abellio East Midlands Railway are currently operating a reduced timetable on their regional services. In our area, note that on Mondays - Fridays, the 12:06 Newark - North Gate - Grimsby Town is currently terminating at Lincoln Central at 12:36 and is therefore not serving Market Rasen, Barnetby, Habrough or Grimsby Town. In addition, the Mondays - Fridays 13:52 Grimsby Town - Newark North Gate is not operating.

For the current timetable for Newark - Lincoln - Grimsby - Cleethorpes, also including the Leicester - Nottingham - Lincoln service, please see:

Local omnibus services currently remain as per the previous update.

Passengers are advised to double check before travelling, also please ensure that all travel is within government guidance for the area in which you reside. At the time of writing, both northern Lincolnshire counties are in coronavirus tier 3 with the associated very high risk warnings.

Passengers are also reminded that face coverings remain mandatory on public transport unless the passenger is exempt and that social distancing should be maintained where possible.
