The Horncastle History and Heritage Society will be organising an exhibition of relics of the Horncastle branch and surrounding stations over the weekend of the 14th and 15th August at the Joseph Banks Centre in Bridge St, Horncastle. Admission is free.

This exhibition will feature many exhibits from the cancelled East Lincolnshire Railway event at Wainfleet, which FBL had intended to organise an excursion to.

Anybody wishing to make the trip from the Barton Line, may I suggest the following Saturday itinerary:

Barton 07:45

Habrough 08:14 - 08:48 (this connection could alternatively be made in Grimsby - this is the 08:38 from Grimsby, connects out of the 08:26 from Cleethorpes)

Lincoln Central 09:30

Lincoln City Bus Station 10:00 (Stagecoach service 56)

Horncastle Market Place 10:49

Horncastle Market Place 16:58

Lincoln City Bus Station 17:50

Lincoln Central 18:29

Habrough 19:09 - 19:22

Barton 19:48

For those wanting a shorter day, the itinerary can be replicated leaving Horncastle two hours earlier.
